Hi! I'm Krista, and I started Dread Love here in Toronto, Ontario, with one pair of hands and a deep love for the art of dreadlocks. Over the years, this work has become more than a service, it’s a community. Every head I touch, every loc I tighten, and every conversation shared reminds me how lucky I am to do what I do.

From that same love grew Mermaid’s Tail, my line of natural, residue-free dreadlock care products made right here in Toronto, Canada. Each made by hand using clean, ingredients like Atlantic sea water, coconut oil, aloe, and local beeswax.

Whether you’re coming in for a fresh install, a root tightening, or just stocking up on your favourite shampoo bar or sea spray, everything I make and offer comes from a place of gratitude.

I started Mermaid’s Tail by Dread Love to offer something I knew was missing: high-quality dreadlock hair products made with clean, minimal ingredients. All made in Canada.

After years of working with loc clients at Dread Love, I wanted to create products for my clients and friends that felt good to use, supported healthy hair and scalp, and didn’t over complicate things.
